about

Popular culture and music has always used dancing as a symbolic act of freedom, expression and joy. When the soundtrack of your joy is a cacophony of echoes generated by an industry of derivative mediocre imitation, sexism, greed and manipulation, how much of an expression of freedom is it?

This book that’s been written to sell
This book that’s to write the wrongs
This books that’s been written for so long
So long, so long

The book is the music industry and its catalog of countless mindless rhythms and algorithms.

It’s a myth that we tell ourselves
It’s a myth that we sell ourselves
It’s a myth that’s been written to tell
It’s a myth, it’s a myth, it’s a myth

It’s a myth of manipulation and product marketing. It’s an unblinking invitation to manufactured joy and thoughtless expression of imitation. It teaches those that listen:

How to control
And how to forget
And how not to listen
And not to forgive

So I ask if we can write a different book:

Let’s write a book on how to live
So our children can remember it
And we don’t have to write it
Just live, and let live

And therefore, I am asking NOT if you want to dance, but if you want to question this myth, and if you do, well:

Do you wanna, do you wanna dance with me?

Do you want to create your own expression of joy? Do you to challenge the existing structures, do you want make up your own dance and dance to the beat of your own drummer.

lyrics

This book that’s been written to sell
This book that’s to write the wrongs
This books that’s been written for so long
So long, so long

It’s a myth that we tell ourselves
It’s a myth that we sell ourselves
It’s a myth that’s been written to tell
It’s a myth, it’s a myth, it’s a myth

How to control
And how to forget
And how not to listen
And not to forgive

Let’s write a book on how to live
So our children can remember it
And we don’t have to write it
Just live, and let live

Do you wanna, do you wanna dance with me
Do you wanna, do you wanna dance with me
Do you wanna, do you wanna dance with me
Do you wanna, do you wanna dance with me

Cause I just wanna dance this night away
I just wanna dance this night away
I just wanna dance this night away
I just wanna dance this night away
