The microcosmic trip around the sun comes full circle as this shadow reflects the one of my creator: my own mother. Through all the mystery of identity one must look at who created them. This leads to uncomfortable roads, empty, but one with familiar signs.

Like staring at an empty page in an unwritten book
Like walking away but turning back to take just one last look
Regrets a dirty work I’ve come to hate
Something I’d never say in my younger days

It leads one to see that regret is inevitable because life is a story with many chapters and for every happy ending comes another challenge, and war is always at the brink.

Like a cloud life shifts shape as it rolls across your day
It leaves you speechless as it just fades away

For every sunny day, for every perfect sunset, for every perfect moment life has a way of reminding you that as long as you're still living it’s not over.

Wasted, I’ve been wasted down to the threads of my only heart
Taste it, I can still taste it: redemption in my lonely art

I have tumultuous relationship with my own mother, just like we all do with our sun, our own creator. She’s cold, and indifferent, but she formed me, and made me who I am today. She’s like my shadow:

I’ve kept your way of saying too little and feeling too much like
Trying hard to stay human and losing that touch

I’ve watched my mother struggle through her own defeats and depressions and distractions, and like her I usually keep my mouth shut. I tell my secrets in songs, and I:
