Burke Hollow, VT, is where Hannah is from, and though she never slapped across the face, she challenged me to be a better man. A night sky is an illusion because the stars don’t “come out” at night, they are always there. The sun blinds us to what is always present. The sun dominates because it is our closest star, and when we put it behind us as the day turns into night we almost forget that it was ever there. This temporary amnesia allows our imagination to conjure up new spirits.
